MUM Moving Unwanted Mutts has been keeping us busy…….

February 26th we sent 35 dogs and puppies to Ocala and Clear Water, Florida.  March 6th we are sending 38 dogs to Dallas.  Transport is a time consuming job of obtaining enough information about our Valley dogs and sharing lists with the receiving group to pick the dogs they think can be adopted easily in their area.  The dogs going to Dallas will be flown to Boston and New York where they are waiting for these wonderful dogs. Our job does not stop with providing lists.  All dogs must be current on vaccinations including Rabies.  All dogs are required to travel with a Health Certificate which requires a Vet to check each animal before it is okay to travel.  This process can take 3 to 4 hours on the day of transport.  The dogs are then loaded in the Van and then we have some wonderful gentlemen that drive these dogs to their destination.  The Florida trip required driving straight through until all dogs were unloaded.  The Dallas trip we have had Cal Fann drive Friday through the night to Saturday morning early drop off.  Without these drivers we would not be able to transport these dogs out of the valley.
